During the imprisonment of 13 pro Catalunian politicians , heavy escalations were arising in the streets of Barcelona.

I covered the first day of the escalation together with my colleague Anatol Gottfried who is a local in Barcelona.

The clash of the special police force and young protestants lead to scenes that are not unlike from images we know from warzones.

Besides that the protests had many people injured , stores were plundered and cars ,motobikes and trashcans were set on fire.

Certain lines were crossed from both sides, Police and young protestants as demonstrations heated up to a level of destruction and unpredictable behaviour of individual Hardliners from Tsunami  Democratic Protest group and the special police force "Mossos D'esquadra."
